The route of K2R Riddim starts in 1992
hereabouts of Cergy-Pontoise around a group of buddies decided well
to cross sonic barrier.
The crew, composed from Loïc in singing, from Tibo in the guitar
and from Thierry in the low makes its first steps on the territories
of the punk and the ska. New members join adventure and board for a
sound trip, destination Jamaïque on the lands of Ska and Rocksteady:
Christophe and Dorothée in brasses (respectively saxophone and
trumpet), Mano in the battery, Yvan in percus, Angel and Justin in singing.
The collective meets in orders of « Book of roots », first
album autoproduces taken out in 1998, which meets an unforeseen infatuation:
the energetic benefits of the group mark minds and mobilize a public
loyal supporter around an only sound, result of a clever mixture of
cultures. Already rich in a strong stage experience, they take out the
album " K2R Live " retranscribing the festive atmosphere which
always characterizes their concerts. The group passes then to the upper
speed:
While the reggae returns to fashion in France, K2R Riddim is meant
to be independent and becomes the cantor of a sure and hired, crossed
French-speaking reggae of his choices. K2R creates Aïllisam so,
their own quality-label which allows them of better maitriser their
roadmap.
Having supported by Wagram, the group takes out its second album in
2001 studio, « Call of R », an opus received enthusiastically
which projects them among the best French trainings. Having known marathons
for its tours, attained K2R Riddim his speed of cruise and takes time
to prepare the album Decaphonik, taken out in 2004. A new experience
which spawns a little more towards influence Soul or Blues while keeping
a solid anchoring in Jamaican musical heritage thanks to collaboration
with Tyrone Downie of Wailers) and Timour Cardenas. Training knows some
turbulence however with the departure of Justin and Angel, replaced
successfully by lord Bitum (Raggadikal, Lokos, Jungle junkies) and Timike
(ex Mister Gang).
The tours of 2004-2005 introduce therefore a new face of the collective,
declined in the album live « Mill on contact » in title
on - measure: opportunity to reassert their step also with DVD «
On the roads of independence », true manifesto of autoproduction.
New crew, new album, new tour: year 2006 sees the return of K2R Riddim
on the front of the stage. The group earned its bet by bringing some
change in its training and in its directory: once again on an updraught,
K2R Riddim took back altitude to refine his new album « K2 aiRlines
», a more collective, mature effort while remaining faithful to
the mind of their beginning.
Powerful texts, hired and carried by the energy of the new recruits,
interbreeding even more succeeded with incursions ska, soul and Short
blues, album in the form of musical trip which testifies of ten years
crossed to go up and down France.

New crew consequently definitely in place, K2R found the pleasure of
creating together and it agrees. About twenty titles appear very quickly
between 2004 and 2005 around lord Bitum and Loic which compete in a
good mood or of desires to unstitch it, Dorothée and Tibo sign
as for them more personal and private titles the whole taken by a very
collusive rhythmic section and a section copper which accepted the (final)
reinforcement of Stalemate from street Orange. This desire to be delighted
notably meets on different sound coverings which punctuate the album.
