AFTER A SUCCESSFUL EUROPEAN TOUR, JUNIOR KELLY SETS HIS SIGHTS ON THE UNITED STATES Root Reggae champion Junior Kelly spent much of the summer blazing a trail across Europe with powerful performances at the Chiemsee Reggae Festival in Germany, and the Sudoeste Festival in Portugal, where he shared the stage with American superstars Snoop Dogg and Kanye West, as well as roots legends Alpha Blondy, and Inner Circle. Kelly also gave rousing performances at the Garance Reggae Festival in France, Ruhr Festival in Germany, and the Oland Roots Festival in Sweden. Ariwa Sounds are proud to present The Back to Africa Festival in the Gambia January 2012.
This festival is part of the celebration of Ariwa Sounds 30 year anniversary in business.
The festival site is in the south of the country, in the sea side resort of Batukunku
The festival will be spread over the week starting January the 20th until January the 25th.
Festival goers will be entertained with live performances from a variety of artists from the label.
We also plan on having workshops, seminars in the morning before performances and an exciting Miss Natural Beauty contest!!

THIRD WORLD MUSICAL SOLIDARITY AND 96 DEGREES WEEKEND TRIBUTE!
On July 1, 2011, Third World headlined at the 3rd annual Keti Koti Festival. With over 15,000 people of Surinamese, European, African and Dutch background in attendance, the festival marked the end of slavery in Suriname. Keti Koti which means (cut chain), celebrates the abolition of slavery that took place in 1863 by the Netherlands in Suriname, however, due to a mandatory ten year transition period, Suriname did not become fully free until 1873. Since 2008 several cities in the Netherlands host various activities, making July 1 a day of national celebration and remembrance throughout the country and Third World was on hand to participate in the festivities.
