Review: THE 'CHARITY MONTH' JUNE 2009
The first 'Charity Month' in June set up by HELP Jamaica! consisted of 12 events in 12 different cities all over Germany, Maastricht (NL) and Budapest (HU). With the help of Promoters, Venues, Soundsystems and of course those who attended the dances it really became a complete success.
Overall, 3,500 people attended the events of the 'Charity Month' and we raised a total sum of 7600,- EUR!
These funds will be put towards the construction, development and establishment of our first Reading & Education Center operated by HELP Jamaica! in the community of Cassava Piece, Kingston 8.

THE 'INTERNATIONAL CHARITY MONTH' - NOVEMBER 2009
Following the success of our inaugural ‘Charity Month’, and based on numerous international inquiries, (including questions such as: “When are your next events,” and, “Could my sound/party/venue be a part of this?”) we are underway in planning our next ‘Charity Month’, which will be in November 2009. We will be releasing more information about this event-series in the following weeks, and one of the goals of our second fundraising month is to increase the international scope of the event.

RELAUNCH OF OUR WEBSITE
We currently work on a relaunch of our website www.helpjamaica.org
The reworked site will provide you with a clearer presentation of information, and it will give us the chance to update the site more often.
So look out for Version 2.0, and the fresh design that will come with it!
The primary goal of the registered non-profit organisation HELP Jamaica! e.V. (Help Establish Library Projects in Jamaica!) is to raise funding in order to support 'Reading and Education Centre' in Jamaica (like the TrenchTown Reading Centre – TRC) and to build more of such community libraries and education center in the future in needy Jamaican communities. The TRC is a wonderful, light, inviting library with fans, bookshelves with an amazing collection of new and suitable books for children and adults, related to the life and surroundings of the people, as well as an additional community room for various activities. The TRC is open 5 days a week and each day 30-50 kids come by to read, learn, get help with their homework, play games, meet friends and be creative, all in a welcoming and secure environment.

Support It - HELP Jamaica! celebrates the 'Charity Month'
In Germany HELP Jamaica! had the idea of something special – and announced the 'Charity Month'. Between the 14th of May and the 27th of June there will be Charity Events for the benefit of HELP Jamaica! in 12 different cities all over Germany as well as in Maastricht (NL) and Budapest (HU).
At this point we would like to take the chance and thank all sounds and promoters supporting us and making the 'Charity Month' possible! Big Sounds like LP International , Sentinel, Supersonic, Soundquake, Herbalize It, Irie Crew, Deebuzz and many many more never hesitated when they got a call from us and said: 'yes, we 're in - we gonna support it and rock the house for the benefit of HELP Jamaica!'
If you live in one of the following cities - make sure you attend the dance, party with your friends and support HELP Jamaica! the same way!
For more information and detailed line-up for each city please check:
www.myspace.com/charitydance or simply click on the poster image above.
When we founded HELP Jamaica! back in September 2008 in Germany, it was mainly to support the TrenchTown Reading Centre. Today we are in the process of planning the first HELP Jamaica!-operated 'Reading & Education Centre' in the community of 'Cassava Piece'.A vision of more of these facilities in Kingston's inner-city ghetto areas is - due to the help of the worldwide reggae fraternity - close to become realized.
Spread the word - and tell a friend!
Attached to this Newsletter you'll find the complete Press-Release as well as the web-flyers and posters for the mentioned events and our web-banner. If you have your own website, blog, newsletter or MySpace we would be pleased if you could support us and publish this press release in whole or in parts to support the cause.
