Tina Mann received her initial training in North Indian classical vocal music from her father at the age of 4. She has also received training and guidance from distinguished vocalists such as Sumita Chakarborti, Vishwanath Shri Kande, Debashish Bhattarcharya and Rita Sahai at UC Davis. She performs in a number of vocal genres such as khayal, bhajan, shabd, ghazal, geet, kirtan/dhun, tarana, thumri and qawwali. She performs regularly in the bay area, and in addition she has taking training in tabla from her father. Sonia Mann has studied Kathak at the Tarangini School of Kathak Dance for the past 12 years. She currently teaches beginner level class for all ages and continues to receive her training and guidance under Shrimati Anuradha Nag, who is a disciple of Padmavibhushan Pandit Birju Maharj, Pandit Vijay Shankar and Natraj Parimal Krishnan of the Lucknow Gharana. In efforts to promote Indian culture and the arts, she has performed at various events and locations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
