Thank you for choosing Roots Reggae Club to support your reggae interests.

Submitting your news is easy:

- register an account,

- confirm your account from the registration email you've then received,

- login, then a small menu will appear on the top right of the site, click on "Submit Reggae News"

- This will take you to your articles management page, 

- Click "NEW"

- Fill-up the article form (some fields have a blue "!" with more explanations.

Content Rules:

- Content must be Reggae, Dancehall, Ska, Reggae Dub or other reggae offsprings such as Reggaeton... Hip Hop articles won't be published. 
- Of course you'll have to avoid contents that contains all kinds of homophobia, chemical drugs, pornography and so on...
- Links in articles are allowed but we try to promote links to your own website rather then social networks
- You can apply all kinds of color and size formatting in the main body texts, but please try to keep it simple and clear... best is no formatting really... when it becomes to complex to clean it up I just give up ... sorry
- INTROS WILL HAVE A MAXIMUM OF 400 CHARACTERS AND A PICTURE.

- MAIN ARTICLES MUST HAVE AT LEAST 300 WORDS and maximum 2 pictures. For more pictures in the body you can use hotlinking (you can, from the editor toolbox in the main body area, insert pictures that are posted on your own website or personal page. 
- Please try as much as possible to build the article as attachement rather than an html email (picture links will direct to email account... )

- You can format colors and text size and add links and many options in the Editor pane of the main area, just try to keep it clean and tidy!!

Text Boxes: 

The form starts with the insertion of the article title (keep it short please) and your name. 

Below this are 2 text boxes for Meta Description and Keywords, Please fill them up according to the explanation inside the box itself, they are important for Google. (you'll have to remove the explanation texts within of course). 

After you select the article Category, you can disregard all the settings until the "Article Intro". 

The article intro is important, it's what will show on the website's front page. Try to make it catchy and condensed, you're allowed to only 400 characters. 

Below this you MUST upload a picture or else your article won't be published. 

Below the 1st picture upload slot you will see a text editor where you can enter the rest of the article. You also can format it the way you want, but I don't advise that you change the colors of the text, or at least don't use dark colors, the website's background is dark, so if you use dark colors nobody will see your text. 

Images:

- You can upload pictures of maximum 400Kb, it will be resized by the system.

- In the intro area you must upload 1 picture, no less, no more.  the upload function is located just below the intro area box. 

In the main body you can upload 2 pictures (from the 2 upload slots below the main editor area. These pictures will be placed automatically at the beginning of the article. You can hotlink more pictures and insert them where you want, using the toolbox on top of the top of the editor area (the icon with the small green tree). 

You will see that you have the option to upload images to Roots Reggae's server as well, please don't use that if not absolutely necessary. If you do so your pictures will most likely be deleted... if you abuse it your account will be terminated. 

 

Music or Video Streaming:

PLEASE DON'T UPLOAD tunes or videos, THEY WILL BE DELETED!

You can insert up to 4 mp3 files and 3 youtube videos in each article:

MP3: upload the mp3 files on your website and enter the url of the mp3 file in the proper field. You can upload the mp3 file anywhere, just make sure that it's not a protected access (for example megaupload and zshare type of websites require to fill a security code before downloading, in that case we won't be able to stream them from the article. 

If you don't have means to upload mp3 files, you still can put megaupload or zshare ... links in the main body area. 

VIDEOS: At this time we only allow Youtube videos. 

- It's simple to use, just enter the Video ID in the allocated slot. Video ID is the code that is in the youtube video url, for example, if the Youtube url is 

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMiOsqaik4Y&feature=g-vrec&context=G20dcdccRVAAAA

Then the ID is nMiOsqaik4Y (whatever is after the v= and before the & (if any)

Profile Links:

You can enter links to your website or your pages for Reverbnation, Myspace, Twitter... Enter the URL starting with http://www

 

When all this is done, you can finally save and close your article. It will be reviewed and if it follows the guidelines it will be published. If you don't see it up after 10 days, please feel free to send a mail and ask about the status. (address is below).
